A graduate of Indiana University, Dr. Beversdorf completed his neurology residency and was the Chief Resident of Neurology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. After completing his fellowship in Behavioral Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, he joined the OSU faculty in 1998. Dr. Beversdorf is a board-certified neurologist with a special clinical interest in autism, dementia, diffuse Lewy body disease, Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. He has done research and published on Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body disease, mild cognitive impairment, autism, the cognitive neuroscience of problem solving ability, pharmacological modulation of cognition and drug addiction. His work has been published in journals such as Neurology, Journal of Neurology Neuroscience and Psychiatry, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United State of America and Lancet. He is also actively involved in research involving Functional MRI and Novel Microelectrode Devices in epilepsy surgery papers. His research has been funded by National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke, National Institute On Drug Abuse, the Stallone Fund and Pfizer. He is an active member of American Academy of Neurology, Society for Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience Society, International Neuropsychological Society and International Society for Autism Research, while regularly presenting at these and other national and international meetings.
