Michael Aman, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry, is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is the Director of an NIH-funded Research Unit on Pediatric Psychopharmacology (RUPP), which is a subunit of Nisonger Center. Dr. Aman is the 2003 receipient of Career Research Scientist Award of the Academy on Mental Retardation. He is the author of more than 150 scientific articles and has served as editor of several books. He is internationally recognized for his work on psychopharmacology and is the co-author of two widely-used standardized behavior rating scales. Dr. Aman also conducted a often-cited review of instruments for assessing psychological problems in people with developmental disabilities for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
