Jean T Stevenson, MD, FACS

Dr. Jean T. Stevenson is the Director of the MetroHealth Medical Center Breast Clinic and the Community Breast Cancer Screening Program. She is a surgeon in the Division of Surgical Oncology at MetroHealth Medical Center, and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Assistant Professor of General Medical Sciences (Oncology), both in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Stevenson received her BA in Biology at Cornell University, and her MD from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, as well as other post-graduate training.

Dr. Stevenson has headed a number of research projects, has lectured extensively (locally and nationally), and has served as an investigator in several clinical trials. She serves on several hospital committees and is a member of a number of professional societies. Dr. Stevenson teaches resident physicians and medical students in both didactic and clinical settings.

In 2005, the Community Breast Cancer Screening Program "BREAST" (Bringing Education, Advocacy, and Support Together) program was launched. The program focuses on overcoming barriers to breast cancer screening among Latin American and African American women through education, advocacy and support. That same year Dr. Stevenson received the Community Outreach Award from the Cancer Care Center at MetroHealth Medical Center.
