S. David Baker, R.Ph, PharmD, DABAT is the Managing Director of the Central Ohio Poison Center (COPC) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor with the College of Pharmacy at the Ohio State University. |
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Applied Toxicology (DABAT), Dr. Baker manages the staff at the COPC which recommends and monitors the treatment of poisoned patients daily. He consults with and advises emergency department physicians, nurses, medics and other health care providers as well as the general public on the management of poisoned patients. In the field of clinical toxicology, Dr. Baker has contributed to research presented at the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology and has been published in the peer reviewed medical literature. He is a full member of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and the American Board of Applied Toxicology. Dr. Baker received his B.S. and PharmD from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. Dr. Baker teaches a toxicology course at the College of Pharmacy at the Ohio State University and precepts Doctorate of Pharmacy candidates during their monthly rotations at the poison center.
