At any one time, over 100,000 people across the United States are waiting for life-saving organ transplants and on average each day, 18 of them die. Every 10 minutes another person is placed on the transplant waiting list. There are simply not enough organs to meet the demand. Over half the people waiting for an organ transplant in Ohio are in Northeast Ohio. But the region falls below the state average when it comes to the number of people registered as donors.
In late January, ideastream launches multimedia coverage on radio, television and web focused on organ and tissue donation and transplantation - - stories about people and families that give life and others that receive it. Please review the calendar below for dates and times of planned programming. Links provide details about the program, and related information on NetWellness about each topic.
