Parkinson's Disease

Is there a downside to mega doses of CO Q10

12/02/1999

Question:

There is a CO Q10 study under way (stage 3) in which people are taking either 300, 600 or 1200 mg of CO Q1. I currently take 300mg on my own and am not part of the study. Is ther any downside to my increasing to 1200 mg. Can it be toxic? Do I have to be monitored for anything? I currently take Sinemet and Requip.

Answer:

There is insufficient data in the literature to answer your question. Outcomes of studies such as the one you describe are awaited.
