How can A.D.D be treated?
There are many ways that ADD is treated. A few are: Stimulant medication to help stimulate specific nerves in the brain. Persons with ADD generally have less of certain nerve transmitter chemicals in specific areas. Behavioral modification to help reinforce appropriate and/or healthful behaviors Education about the positive and negative aspects of ADD Support groups to help people learn from others facing the same concerns Identifying learning strengths and weaknesses and emphasizing how to best use the strengths Psychotherapy to help individuals deal with difficult problems and patterns that have developed over the years Family Therapy to help family members respond in a healthful manner to having one or more persons with ADD in the household
