HIV and AIDS
What Could These Symptoms Mean?
With a negative HIV test (12 months from possible exposure), what could the following symptoms mean? Chest discomfort, SOB, substernal discomfort (not specific with eating), fevers, night sweats, coughing up blood, UTIs.
Who should this person see regarding a referral?
These symptoms could be related to tuberculsis or HIV infection or immunosuppression due to any reason. This person probably needs to see a primary care physician and an infectious diseases referral may not be unreasonable.
