Autoammuine disease

Question:

My friend had a bioposy of her gums in her mouth and the dentist ordered some blood tests..ANA blood work and said that she had an autoammuine disease...he will talk to her next week..what kind could it be?

Answer:

It is difficult to make a diagnosis based on the information provided. Some of the autoimmune diseases that can be suspected on oral biopsy include Sjogrens syndrome (salivary gland inflammation) and OSMF (oral submucosal fibrosis).
