Back or Spinal Cancer08/07/2000 |
Is there such a thing as back cancer or cancer of the spinal column?
The vertebrae which make up the spinal column are bone. Any kind of cancer which can either start in the bone or spread to the bone can develop in the vertebrae. Some types of cancer are more likely than others to be found in the vertebrae. These include multiple myeloma and two common cancers which tend to spread to the spinal column (prostate and breast).
