Question:

HOw to prevent cradle cap from forming in newborns scalp?

Answer:

Cradle cap, also called seborrheic dermatitis is a thick yellow greasy coating or scaling found on the newborn`s scalp. As part of the bath, wash the scalp with soap and water, followed by complete rinsing will usually prevent its development. You should not use a rough brush or vigorously rub the scalp to remove anything with out consulting your health care provider. If you are unable to remove scales or coating from the infants scalp with gentle washing you should consult your health care provider.
