KNOTS IN MUSCLES

Question:

IS ONE SYMPTOM OF LUPUS DEVELOPING PAINFUL KNOTS IN YOUR MUSCLED THAT ARE RED AND FEVERISH?

Answer:

This would not typical for lupus. "Muscle knots" may indicate spasms which may be seen with myofascial syndromes and which occur more frequently in lupus patients. Alternatively tender red "knots" if in the skin may be erythema nodosum.
