Question:

i am a 21 year old boy and need to put braces. could you just tell me how much time does it take to get the teeth in normal position and can i put them at this age

Answer:

Dear Sir, The actual time it takes to treat a certain type of malocclusion " crooked teeth " is dependant on the severity of the problem. Most typical problems can achieve correction in approximately two years. This assumes that the treatment involves both the upper and lower jaws of teeth. If you have a lesser problem the time could be less. You need to find an orthodontist who would examine your mouth and determine what the problem is. Usually this involves taking diagnostic records. This could include models of your mouth, head radiograph, and radiographs of the teeth to make sure the root structure is sound. The orthodontist would then study this material and give you a definitive plan for your correction.
