How dangerous is low blood pressure?
Surprisingly, it is not clear what the lower limit of normal blood pressure is. In an otherwise healthy person, there is a correlation between blood pressure and risk for stroke and heart disease. The lower the blood pressure, the lower the risk.Low blood pressure can cause weakness, lassitude or dizziness. If severe, it can lead to fainting spells. However, as long as a person feels well and has no other medical problems, having a `low` blood pressure is harmless.
