Incontinence after dialation

Question:

I have had chronic urinary tract infrections for years now and my urologist has decided to give me a urethral dialation. I have heard that this can cause incontinence if it is not done properly, is that true?

Answer:

Dilations should not cause incontinence and they may be helpful to you. I suggest you follow the advice of your urologist.
