Lupus and Flu shots

Is it recommended for middle aged women with SLE Lupus to get annual flu shots? Can a flu shot cause complicatioons or a flare up?

Annual flu vaccination is recommended for patients with chronic diseases including SLE. SLE patients generally tolerate most immunizations well although there may be a slight increase in the risk of a flare.
