Lupus

What do these tests mean

03/29/2002

Question:

I just found out that I tested positive for anticardiolipin and ANA (mild to moderate) - does this mean I have Lupus? What else could it be. I had these tests done because I was trying to get answers as to why I had pre-eclampsia. I have no symtoms.

Answer:

Without a consultation i cannot tell you how significant this result is for you. Anticardiolipin antibodies have been reported in patients who have recurrent miscarriages particularly in the 2nd trimester and also in patients with recurrent blood clots.
