Projecting Participation Costs

We are planning to start a wellness program that will subsidize participation in an organized fitness center. Any idea of what percentages we can expect for participation based on your experience. i need to project costs to our Mgmt.

A SWAG would work.

I recommend contacting the Association for Worksite Health Promotion at 847.480.9574 for current research related to utilization and cost-effectiveness of wellness programs. They have a new resource guide titled, `Creating a Healthy Workforce`, for practitioners interested in creating, delivering, and adapting innovative and effective health promotion programs in various work settings. At this point in time, there is no doubt that wellness programs have proven benefits such as reduced absenteeism, increased productivity, reduced personnel turnover, decreased back problems, and improved morale in addition to the bottom-line financial rewards. Best of luck to you in your wellness programming.
