Obesity and Weight Management

Fat and Muscle Loss

09/23/2003

Question:

I have multiple myeloma. I am not receiving treatment at this time. My concern is that I am losing body mass, not necessarily weight. I am a thin person. I have not lost weight, but have noticeably lost fat and muscle. My physician hasn`t really given me an answer on this. I have not heard about others with MM having the same problem, unless they were actively sick. Why am I losing fat and muscle?
