Stomach pain

12/09/2003

Question:

For the past two weeks I have been having stomach pain and nausea while running. It doesn`t feel like a side stich, but like I have worked my abs really hard when I haven`t even done any situps or ab work. My friend, who is also a runner, said she had the same problem last year and saw an article about stomach pain/digestive problems in distance runner, but could not remember the specifics. Could this study pertain to me? Thanks.

Answer:

Stomach pain while running may occur for several reasons. Since this condition has been happening quite frequently, I suggest you discuss this matter with your personal physician.
