Where can I find information on Vascular Dimentia?
Vascular dementia is not a term we often use, but patients with high blood pressure can often develop small areas in the brain which don`t get enough blood resulting in that part of the brain dying. Depending on what area of the brain is involved, dementia or a change in neurologic status, can develop. Once that area of the brain is damaged there is little that can be done other than protecting the"live" areas that remain by controlling blood pressure. Best of luck!
