Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Differences Between ADD and ADHD

I am a seventh grader doing a report about Attention Deficit Disorder. I am curious what the difference is between Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. In all my resources they are listed together.

"ADHD" (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is still the official medical name in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association. The book is only redone every 10-15 years so it can often be behind the times a little. Many people use "ADD" (Attention Deficit Disorder) since it seems more appropriate because hyperactivity is only found in some people with this problem. I hope you learn lots of new and interesting things working on your paper!
