Low sodium05/24/2004 |
My rheumatologist left me a msg telling me I had to return to the lab w/in 2 weeks because I have a low sodium level. What does that mean? Of course I looked it up on the internet and w/ my muscle weakness and tremors, now I am scared. Should I stop drinking so much water? I am so thirsty all the time. I called back and they told me it was really nothing to worry about, but I am worried. What does it mean?
It would be difficult to provide an opinion without knowing further details. It may be useful for you to follow your physician`s recommendations. Based on the information in this question, you should have normal regular water intake. Your muscle weakness and tremors are unlikely to be related to one laboratory value of slightly low serum sodium.
