Urinary Tract Cancers

What is prostrate infection?

06/11/2004

Question:

can prostrate infection be sexually transmitted or is this just an illness that affects men of different ages and does it have any affect on the sex partner of the man who has it?

Answer:

Though prostate infections may not be transmittable, some urethral infections are and it may be difficult to differentiate the two for the symptoms could be similar.  I would therefore suggest that if a man has burning on urination or other irritable symptoms related to urination that protected sexual activity or no sexual activity should be carried out until the problem is resolved.
