Trouble with weight loss
I am having trouble losing weight...in fact, I am actually gaining it while I try to lose! I exercise anywhere from 40-90 minutes a day on an eliptical machine and lifting weights...I watch what I eat, and have even tried dieting to see if that helps with my exercise routine. Nothing has worked, and I have actually gained enough weight over a very short period of time that my clothes no longer fit!! I`ve have my hormones and thyroid tested and they are normal! I really don`t know what to do, I don`t feel healthy at my current weight and really wish to lose 25 pounds...although at the rate I am going it may need to be more shortly!! Any ideas?? Thanks
It is discouraging to be working so hard on your exercise program and eating right and still not meeting your weight loss goals. It is possible that you have gained some muscle mass due to your cardiovascular activity and weight lifting. This is a very good result because the ultimate body composition goal is to obtain more muscle mass than fat mass. It may be helpful to consult a registered dietitian to review your diet to determine if you are eating in a manner that will best help you reach your goals.
