Is my PSA Ratio Normal?10/06/2004 |
Dr. Resnick, thank you for answering my question last week on 10-01-04, I felt more reassured even though I have a good doctor. I am the 48 year old male with PSA 3.0, average over the last 7 years 2.5. My new blood test on friday (3 days no sex or supplements) had a PSA of 2.3 and free PSA 0.60, which is 26 %. Is this the average for this or should have this been a free PSA of 30% plus? Thank you so very much again.
The ratio id fine. The ratio is probably most accurate with a total PSA ranging from 4.0-10.0. With your low PSA, a ratio of 26% is fine.
