Is fluoride treatment necessary

hello: i just came from my 6 mo checkup.is flouride treatment necessary? also the polishing? thank you.

Answer:

Everyone can benefit from fluoride, both adults and children.  Some offices just give children fluoride treatments (up to age 18) because it is covered by insurance.  Other offices give everybody fluoride.  It depends on the philosophy of the dental practice.  Polishing is pretty much standard for all patients.  It removes any plaque, stain or debris that may be on the teeth.
