How Long Can I Wait for Surgery After a PSA Test?04/04/2005 |
I am 47. I have a Gleason score of 3+3 and PSA of 10. The doctor said I should not wait more than a month to get surgery. Do you think it is safe to wait 6 months or more. I heard prostate cancer is a slow disease.
You have time to consider your options. Typically there is a three month interval between diagnosis (biopsy) and treatment whether it be surgery or radiation therapy.
