What is the most common drug used by teens?
According to the 2003 National Survey on Drug Use and Health:
- 29% of persons aged 12 to 20 used alcohol in the month prior to the survey
- 14% of youths ages 12 to 17 used tobacco in the month prior to the survey
- 7.9% of youths ages 12 to 17 used marijuana in the month prior to the survey.
So,in terms of legal drugs, alcohol was the most commonly used. In terms of illicit drugs, marijuana was the most commonly used.
