Skin Care and Diseases
What should be done with blisters caused by the sun?
The blisters are a response to way too much sun. Keep the skin comfortable by applying cold compresses. To prevent possible infection, do not pop the blisters-let them naturally disappear. The time this will take depends on how severe a sunburn you have. If you see any signs of infection or if the blisters are not healing after 4-5 days you may want to seek a medical opinion. Since one blistering sunburn can significantly increase your chances of developing skin cancer, in the future sunscreen with an SPF of 30 reapplied every 2-3 hours and protective clothing will prevent this painful and potentially health impacting experience.
