HIV and AIDS
Can You Be HIV Positive and Suffer From Allergies?
If HIV involves an underactive immune system and allergies are an overactive immune system, is it possible to be HIV positive and suffer from allergies?
The answer is yes. In fact, HIV-infected individuals seem to suffer more allergies to antibiotics than non-HIV-infected individuals. The immune mechanism associated with allergic responses is different than that associated with HIV.
