Athletics post cervical fusion?

Question:

My daughter a national level gymnast recently dislocated at the c-5 c-6 juncition, ruptured the disc between and had a few chips. They removed the disc, cleaned up the area, and placed a graft along with a titanium plate. She had no lose of fuction with her injury. Is it possible and or safe for her to ever resume training? What are the increased risk factors due to this injury?
