Do vitamin A products like Retin-A and Tazorac, used to unblock pores on the face, also help to dry out oily skin?
Retinoids normalize sebaceous gland function, or in some cases decrease the patient's gland function. Initially as the comedones begin to disappear there may be increased oil on the surface of the skin.
The topical retinoids are in vehicles that are a bit irritating, and as such you may have a false sense of dryness.
