Testing for a Goiter02/06/2006 |
Is a doctor feeling your neck for an enlarged thyroid thorough enough to tell if you have a goiter? I've had 2 doctors tell me that I don't, but have a family history and would like to be sure I shouldn't do further testing, such as an ultrasound. Thank you.
Yes, having a doctor feel your neck is a sufficient test for finding a goiter. You do not need an ultrasound.
