Exercise and near fainting episodes

03/03/2006

Question:

Whenever I try to exercise I almost always start to feel clamy, nauseated, weak with a slight headache. I also do not perspire. I`ve had stress tests, nuclear medicine stress test,EKG and just recently an echo cardiogram. My heart is fine. This has been going on for years. I`ve tried eating at different times. I don`t think my doctor is taking my problem seriously. I`m overweight now and need to start exercising. Just recently I ended up in the emergency room after the first 15 minutes of a beginners Pilates class. My physicals and blood tests don`t show any problems. Can you offer any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem?

Answer:

I suggest you consult another physician.  Voice all your concerns to them.  A second opinion cannot hurt.
