Understanding and Pricing Implants02/27/2006 |
Recently I had to have all of my teeth pulled (upper/lower) because of a gum disease. My dentist strongly recommends implants on lower to avoid/stop my gume to decrease. Question: Why does he recommend only lower, if upper part will decrease what did I win? Question: Per my research, implants cost at least $30.000 which is out of reach for me, what can I do?
There is certainly benefit to having implants placed in both upper and lower; however the amount of benefit is even greater for the lower arch. When the expense of both is not affordable, the lower is a priority. Conventional dentures may be made and worn for a fraction of the cost; however, patients who have worn conventional dentures and later get the implants have been much happier with the implants.
