Elbow pain03/13/2006 |
I am a pitcher and recently my elbow has occassionally been pooping and sore. When hurting I have trouble grasping objects.
It is difficult to determine what is going on without being able to perform a clinical exam. I am sure I don't need to tell you about how serious an elbow injury can be to a throwing athlete, especially a pitcher. Popping at the elbow can be a variety of things and when accompanied by decreased grip strength, may be indicative of a subluxing ulnar nerve. Based on your symptoms and the limited information provided, I certainly would recommend a visit to a sports medicine or orthopaedic physician for an evaluation and for treatment recommendations before continuing to throw.
