Tanning bed reaction09/07/2006 |
I recently layed in the tanning and a few minutes later I began to itch, then in a couple of hours bumps apperared and continued to itch really bad, they went away over night what could be the cause?
Without seeing the rash, it is impossible to know what you may have had. Given the fact that the rash resolved so quickly, one possibility includes a reaction to ultraviolet light. There are different types of reactions to light, one of which is hives (this is rare from ultraviolet light); another is a reaction because of medications you are on.A separate possibility is a type of heat rash. I would recommend avoiding tanning beds from now on. If the rash recurs, see your board certified dermatologist.
