Symptoms of Anxiety

04/05/2006

Question:

I have had anxiety for several years along with panic attacks-I recently cut caffeine almost completely out of my diet- anxiety is still there but panic attacks are fewer and less intense-I recently have had shortness of breath(no coughing or wheezing) at different times- without any other symptoms of panic- is this normal with anxiety?

Answer:

Shortness of breath can be associated with anxiety and panic, but you should always see your primary care doctor for an evaluation to make sure there is nothing else medically going on that could be causing this problem.
