How is math involed with althletic training?
Just as in everyday life, math plays an important role in athletic training. Most college athletic training programs require 2-3 math courses as part of the curriculum. These courses carry over well to chemistry, physics, pharmacology, and biomechanics courses to be taken later. Athletic trainers deal with purchasing, budgeting, and logistical issues every day which require strong math skills. Math also plays a role in athlete care when dealing with biometric measurements, rehabilitation protocols, and environmental (heat) issues.
