Skin Care and Diseases
If someone has Rosacea on the nose, specifically blocked pores due to over active sebaceous glands, what is the first line of treatment?
Your description of your problem simply having blackheads in your nose is not rosacea and the treatment with a retinoid -- Retin-A will often cause complete elimination of those blackheads.
If in fact you have rosacea which is characterized by red papules, pustules and redness and telangiectasias of the central part of the face including the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin then other treatments might be considered. It is most important that the correct diagnosis be established and then specific treatments ordered which is best served by seeing your board certified dermatologist for a complete skin exam including evaluation of your face.
