Breast Feeding

Sickness while breastfeeding

06/20/2006

Question:

ive been up all night with sickness and im worryed whether my 5week old son is at risk from catching any thing i have

Answer:

Since you did not say what your problem was it is difficult to answer this question.  If you have any questions you should ask YOUR health care provider!

However, there are always a few things to keep in mind.

Wash your hands frequently.  Each time before you begin doing anything with or for your baby, in addition to when you have finished changing her diaper.

Cover your mouth when your cough and sneeze and then wash your hands.

Get rest, and keep yourself well hydrated.

Get HELP!! it is often very difficult for a new mom to ask for help, but now is a time when you really need it. So when someone offers to help, take them up on it.
