De novo dysplasia08/10/2006 |
Could you please tell me what de novo dysplasia is? Thanks.
Webster's Collegiate Dictionary defines DeNovo as "over again". Dysplasia is defined in Dorland's Medical Dictionary (25th edition) as "abnormality of development in pathology; alteration in size, shape and organization of adult cells". I looked in several references but no specialty textbooks to find the phrase used in your question. It would suggest that there is abnormality of cells within the epithelium of a given organ system, and it is repeating.
It is imperative that you talk with you physician who may have a medical specialty use of this combination in this form. That individual can clarify the way this was used in a given setting.
