Mollescum and swimming lessons06/29/2006 |
My six year old son has mollescum and is being treated with Aldara. I was wondering if it is ok for him to take swimming lessons and be in a pool with other children?
That's a very considerate question. Molluscum is caused by a virus and can be transmitted through contact. Not all people who come in contact would actually develop the lesions because most of the time, the immune system takes care of it. It's better to finish up the treatment with Aldara first or cover the molluscum lesions while swimming.
