Myocardial InfarctionTest Results in A Normal Person

07/05/2006

Question:

Is there something called a normal person with ECG tracings similar of that one with myocardial infarction?

Answer:

When an ECG suggests a myocardial infarction, your doctor will most likely perform further testing to evaluate if there has actually been a heart attack. Occasionally, the ECG may suggest an MI when the heart is normal. This can only be determined by further testing, such as an echocardiogram, or a stress test. If the ECG tracing suggests an MI, you should see your doctor to discuss further testing.
