Aftermath of Amputation07/14/2006 |
After the amputation of a toe, what are some of the effects that a patient will have? Is draining and an odor from the wound typical?
There can be some clear or bloody drainage initially, as well as swelling and pain. Signs of infection can include redness, foul odor, breakdown of the wound, and cloudy drainage. If there is any question, the wound should be evaluated by your physician.
