Black spot in the upper gum08/01/2006 |
One month ago, a black spot appeared in my 7 years old son`s upper gum. I though it was a bruise after he accidentally hit himself in his mouth. After a week, I took him to the dentist, but she said that it would disappear by itself. Yesterday I`ve notice that the spot is still there. Is it normal to take so long for a bruise to disappear? Or could it be something to worry about? Thankyou.
Is he teething? It may be a sign that a tooth is trying to erupt and/or having difficulty in erupting. If it has been more than two weeks and it is not going away, you may want to visit a pedodontist (dentist specialized in kids).
