Toddler tooth eruption07/31/2006 |
My son will be 5 in September. It looks like he has a bottom back tooth coming in. Is that normal? Is it too soon for those teeth to be coming in? Would be the 6th tooth on the bottom.
There is a broad range of what is considered "normal" timing of eruption of teeth in children. It sounds like your son's first permanent molar ("six-year" molar) is coming in a little early. If a dental sealant is indicated for this tooth, your dentist will be able to apply it a little earlier than expected.
