Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Erectile Dysfunction...

08/02/2006

Question:

My question regards erictile disfunction (ED). As embarassing as this is I was wondering how do I know if I have ED. My girlfriend gave me oral sex & I had no problem getting & maintaining an erection. But when I tried to have intercourse I had trouble getting & maintaining an erection. This has happened to me twice in the last two years & both times I was wearing a condom. I don`t believe I can maintain an erection & have sex using a condom because there is decreased sensitivity. This has me worried. Is there something wrong with me? Do I need to take something like Viagra? Also, are there any long term health risks by using Viagra? Please help! Thanks!

Optional Information: Age: 44

Already Tried: Nothing

Answer:

This problem sounds like it is mostly psychogenic, meaning not physical. Please start with a psychologist, or a similar mental health professional.
