Line of gum line below tooth08/17/2006 |
I have recently noticed a rough or line below one of my molars (lower) on the inside of the gum. I recently had 6 teeth removed from the other lower side. I am awaiting surgery on this side as I have impacted wisedom teeth and a known abcess. In may I had a full mouth exray plus a check for peridontal disease - ealry onset which is why the surgery is occuring. I am now pregnant and am scared because of this "line" white in colour and rough. Is it due to an abcess? I keep my teeth as healthy as possible - I just discovered this area about a week ago.
It is hard for me to give you a differential diagnosis. It is possibly related to the existence of an abscess and severity of periodontal breakdown. Pregnancy and hormonal changes may be factors, too.
